It happened again today - we were on the road. After a rough night, really a good night spent with friends, dressed up like idiots (us, not them), we struggled to get moving, but managed to hop into the car for a drive. We decided to go to Ohio, yet again. Our stop was Youngstown. We tried to find this cool building that was a diner/warehouse/whorehouse/drug den, but realized that due to the area we were in and the backseat little girl, we were going to skip it. We did find it, Big Man went in, it was cool, but a lot of inappropriate stuff for Little Girl so we traveled on. We just decided to drive. And drive we did. We found so much cool stuff. Needless to say, the pictures are below. We found a couple abandoned motels, one in Ohio and one in PA. They were very cool. One was shut up like Fort Know, the other one was wide open. Little Girl was sleeping so Big Man stayed put in the car. I walked the halls. They must be revamping the motel or trying to because the rooms were filled with all sorts of odd things. But the halls were very creepy, doors opened, Bibles sitting opened. A quick go around and I left.
We also found a really cook, olk theater front in Youngstown. It was either the Parliament Theatre or the State Theatre. Does not really matter. What did matter was that the details in the stone face were incredible. Though nothing remained behind it, just the face was magnificent.
And so was our drive. Again, it was full of laughs and Mini Mart stops. Lots of music filled the car and there was even a small amount of napping from the backseat. I think the best part of this trip was the fact that we just took random roads and saw so much cool stuff. No real destination path, just more of a journey today. That suited the day perfectly. Not much a trip, but I will take one like this ANY DAY!!!
